British Red Cross hosts LinkedIn live event for National Stress Awareness Day

In support of National Stress Awareness Day on 6 November, Red Cross Training hosted a LinkedIn Live event featuring a panel of speakers, who discussed real stories of how they manage stress at work. Louise Fernand, Mental Health Product Manager at the British Red Cross was joined by Laura Hesketh, Performance Coach Manager at the British Red Cross, Samson Owolabi, Creative Director at Bearded Fellows and Matthew Stanners, Managing Director at Bearded Fellows. Andrea Wood, Psychosocial Practitioner at the British Red Cross also talked about top tips for normalising and managing stress at work.

Prior to the event, followers of the Red Cross Training LinkedIn channel were asked how they experience stress at work. 47% of followers that responded said that they regularly experienced stress at work. 47% said that they sometimes experienced stress at work and 5% had never experienced stress at work.

The event highlighted:

  • real stories of how people manage stress at work
  • how to normalise stress at work
  • top stress tips from the British Red Cross mental health team.

Following the live event, Louise Fernand said: ""Our guest speakers kindly shared their experiences of stress at work, what they did to manage it and how they have built resilience to adapt. By doing so, they are helping to normalise conversations about mental health and reduce the stigma.’’
