British Red Cross Training has announced its trainer-led Mental Health at Work courses are now CPD accredited.
The approval from the professional development body validates the high standard across content and delivery of each Red Cross workplace mental health course.
While mental health training is not regulated in the UK nor has any standardised assessment criteria, the CPD accreditation demonstrates the Red Cross approach to training is ‘professionally beneficial to the audience.’
Each course is available via multiple learning methods and aims to cater to different learning styles and business needs. Fulfilling learning outcomes is a vital part of achieving CPD accreditation, and Red Cross Training ensures the quality of its course material means these learning outcomes are met to the same standard across the UK.
Mental Health Product Manager at Red Cross Training, Louise Fernand, said of the CPD accreditation: “Our approach to workplace mental health training is preventative and proactive, and this is reflected across our course material. This accreditation is testament to our global reputation and all the hard work which goes into making these courses market leading and highly valuable to organisations of all shapes and sizes.”
What is CPD accreditation?
CPD stands for continuing professional development. Accreditation from the CPD Certification Service refers to a quality mark that guarantees the content, delivery and learning outcomes of professional training. Anyone who works within a sector that is formally regulated (e.g. legal, finance) is likely to be required to track and progress their CPD to maintain their professional qualifications or licence to practise.
Employers will support CPD; however, the responsibility often lies with the individual employee to source CPD training activities that meet their personal learning needs and objectives. Many professionals choose CPD-accredited training over non-accredited as this assures learners that the content, learning outcomes and all training materials are of a high standard.
